PURPOSE:To simplify control action, by a method wherein, when an ink solvent is replenished to ink liquid in order to control ink viscosity, an opening time of an electromagnetic valve and a feed amount of the ink solvent is set into a linear relationship. CONSTITUTION:An ink viscosity detector detects ink viscosity. When the ink viscosity exceeds a given value, an electromagnetic valve 26 is opened by generating a time in accordance with the detected viscosity through the working of a control circuit 27 for opening and closing time, and replenishing liquid in a cartridge 20 for ink solvent is fed to an ink tank 8. The cartridge 20 for ink solvent is formed in a Mariotte bottle, consisting of a fine tube 20, one end of which is open to the air and the other of which extends into an ink solvent 21, a plug 23, an external pipe 24, and empty level sensors 25a and 25b which detect that the ink solvent liquid 21 in the bottle 20 becomes empty. The opening time of the electromagnetic valve and the feed amount of the ink solvent are set into a linear relationship. |
