A storage drum (9) receiving a plurality of turns serves for the intermediate storage of yarn to be fed to a machine. A yarn-feed device has a plurality of axially attached elements (8), on which are mounted yarn-displacing members (10) which, during the rotation of the drum, are moved to and fro in the longitudinal direction by a control cam, in order to displace the yarn turns towards the yarn draw-off point. To prevent stresses in the drawn-off yarn as a result of yarn overlaps, projections project outwards through the elements arranged in the longitudinal direction of the drum and displace individual yarn turns out of the region of the yarn-displacing members towards the draw-off side of the yarn drum, thereby preventing the formation of yarn layers lying one on top of the other. <IMAGE> |
