<p>An earthed multi-pole, encapsulated, pressure gas-insulated h.v. cable, has the metal encapsulation divided into two sections. The sections are formed by a vertical wall in the longitudinal direction of the cable. The longitudinal gas-tight channels formed are again separated into sections by transverse gas-tight walls. The conductor is separated from the encapsulation by insulated spacers extending through the transverse walls. The encapsulation (1) has an elliptical cross-section. The axis at right angles to the separating wall (2) is larger than the height of the separating wall. The distances between the electrical potentials are increased without the need to increase the wall thickness of the separating wall or encapsulating tube.</p> |
