The buzzer for a telephone or the like comprises a yoke (1) on to which the solenoid is wound and a swivel armature (6). The yoke acts as the main carrier and the armature forms a snap-in connection (8,9) with the metal core (2,3) inserted in (a slot 4 of) the yoke, thus at the same time locating the anchor and the core. The free end of the armature extends in to a tubular resonance cavity (11) in the carrier (1). The cavity may be arranged in the upper flange (12) of the carrier. The lower flange (13) may have snap-in mounting hooks (14,15).
