<p>The rapid coupling for pipes and hollow section ducts has hollow stubs (2) over which the ends of the pipes are pressed and with the stubs mounted on junction sections (1) for straight through couplings, bends as well as multi connectors. The stubs have guide slots (12) on their outer surface containing rows of steel balls which press against the inside of the duct to complete the coupling. The ends of the ball ducts are in the middle connector section where screw tighteners provide the pressure which is transmitted along the balls and which press them against the ducts. Different profiles of duct can be effectively coupled using low grade steel balls, such as bearing rejects.</p> |
