PURPOSE:To avoid production of disable control due to misreading and disable read-in, by recognizing simple symbols over two frames for entering characters with an exclusive device different from a character recognizing section as controlling special symbols. CONSTITUTION:The image of description pattern for one line's share of a document 1 is in photoelectric conversion at a photoelectric conversion means 2 and stored in the memory means 3. The pattern not bridging the sentence describind frames two or more among the images fed from this memory means 3 is fed to the recognizing menas 8. The result of recognition is stored in the result memory means 6. Further, the pattern bridged over two or more characters describing frames is fed to the straight line detection means 5, and if a straight line is detected, the information such as the number of straight lines and location is fed and stored to the memory means 6. When the result of read-in for one line or sheet's share is stored in this memory means 6, the content is fed to the editing means 7 for editing. |
