The joint which forms the bridge between the heel and ball of the shoe to provide the required arch of the shoe is in two sections (2,3) which are set in the sides of the shoe. The two joint sections are pref. joined by a curved cross connection piece (4) into one structural unit. This design of the joint maintains the resilience, cushion effect and pliability of the sole since the heel area is free of fillers or parts of the joint so that further foam layers are unnecesary. The shoe can be worked onto a lightweight comparatively thin welt with further reinforcements also unnecessary. Sewn-in uppers can be worked directly onto the soles of the heels, of special importance in the manufacture of sandals.
|
