Parallel guide for electronic balance load pan - has corner load error compensation electronics using torque sensor output

A parallel guide (1,2,3,4) for the load pan (6) of an electronic balance has adjusters (9) enabling corner load error reduction. The guide is designed for reduced fine mechanical content and adjustment time compared to conventional arrangement. The adjusters are used only for coarse setting. There is a sensor or sensors (20,21) measuring the torque transferred from the load pan to the parallel guide. The electronic circuits contain switches or program elements which correct the wt. value from the balance according to the magnitude of the unadjusted corner load and the torque sensor output or outputs. Alternatively, there may be no adjustment for reduction of the corner loading errors, in which case the correction is done on the basis of the sensor output and the error occurring.
