PURPOSE:To obtain a circularly polarized wave generator which is suitable for mounting on the broadcasting satellite, by connecting the feeding square waveguide and the cross aperture horn through no circular waveguide part to shorten the waveguide circuit for circularly polarized wave generation. CONSTITUTION:In the circularly polarized wave generator, a pair of metallic walls which are orthogonal to the diagonal below and are brought into contact with the wall of prescribed-legnth square waveguide A are provided symmetrically at two corners on one diagonal of the square section of waveguide A, and intervals between waveguide A and this pair of metallic walls are so set that the phase difference of the orthogonal electric field of the electromagnetic wave propagating in waveguide A is 90 deg.. In case that this circularly polarized wave generator is used to connect the rectangular waveguide to the cross aperture horn, circularly polarized wave generator C' where the aperture end is square is connected to cross aperture horn E directly if rectangular waveguide A is connected to circularly polarized wave generator C' through rectangle-square converter B'. |
