Novel auxiliary mixture containing at least (I) one dicarboxyimidoester of the formula where W is a radical of dicarboxylic acid of at least 2 carbon atoms, T is an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or araliphatic radical of not more than 24 carbon atoms and n is from 2 to 5, and as component (II) (A) an acid ester or salt thereof of a polyadduct of propylene oxide with a polyfunctional aliphatic amino or hydroxyl compound which has from 2 to 9 carbon atoms and at least one amino or hydroxyl group capable of addition, or (B) an acid ester or salt thereof of a polyadduct of an alkylene oxide with a phenyl having at least one alkyl, benzyl or phenyl group, and (C) an anionic or amphoteric ester or salt thereof of a polyadduct of 2 to 50 mol of an alkylene oxide with an aliphatic monoamine of from 8 to 24 carbon atoms, or a mixture of two or more of these substances, in particular a mixture of surfactant compounds (A), (B) and (C) together. The auxiliary mixture is used in the optical brightening or preferably dyeing of polyester fibre materials to increase the rate of migration of optical brighteners or disperse dyes.
