Metal laminates, process for production thereof and coins made therefrom.

A metal laminate particularly suitable for the production of coins comprises a core layer (11) of nickel, iron or a ferromagnetic alloy containing nickel or iron, two layers (12, 13) of copper cladding the core layer, and two outer sheathing layers (14, 15) cladding the copper layers and made from a copper alloy containing from 0.5 to 10%aluminium and from 0 to 9.5% nickel. The laminates may be made by bonding the metal layers by hot or cold rolling.
