PURPOSE:To obtain a thermosensitive recording material excellent in head matching property with no adsorption of gas, blanking or the like by a method wherein styrene-maleic acid copolymer particles are added into the thermosensitive color developing layer. CONSTITUTION:Styrene-maleic acid copolymer particles (preferably at the ratio of styrene:maleic acid=1:1-0.1 in mole and with average molecular weight not less than 100,000 and an average particle diameter of 0.01-10mu) are added into a thermosensitive color developing layer containing a colorless or light-colored color forming substance (e.g. Crystal Violet lactone) and a developing substance (e.g. 4-hydroxyphenoxide) to develop the color forming substance when heated, as main components. |
