The present invention is concerned with the problem of preventing dust-formation on electrode plates of lead. The problem is solved by applying a coating of water-in-soluble plastics material on the surface or surfaces of the electrode plate. Examples of suitable materials are polyacrylates, polystyrene, polyvinylacetate and polyvinylchloride. Copolymers may also be used.
