PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by arranging the top-bulged auxiliary electrode which is made of the material stable for mercury, at the top end part of lead wires. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 4 is formed by supporting a filament 3 by a pair of lead wires 2, 2 which are penetrated through inside a glass bulb from the stem 1 sealed at the both ends of the glass bulb. At the top end part of the pair of lead wires 2, 2, the electrode 5 in T-figure form which is made of the material stable for mercury, such as iron, nickel, cobalt, and molybdenum is mount by the jointing means such as spot welding. Owing to the arrangement of this auxiliary electrode 5, the discharge conditions in the vicinity of the electrode 4 are improved. |
