PURPOSE:To prevent the gas cap removably fitted to an oil supply port of a gasoline tank or the like from being overtightened by releasing a dog of the gas cap from a ratchet member. CONSTITUTION:When a handle piece 1 is rotated further in the tightening direction after perfectly tightening a cap main body 15 to the oil supply port, the main body 15 is fixed to the port, and tooth parts 13c at the lower part of the ratchet member 13 are engaged with tooth parts 14a of a clutch member 14 capable of moving upward and downward in the tightening direction, so that rotation is blocked at vertical surfaces. As a result, the end part 11c of the dog 11 provided for a handle piece 1 is moved against a spring 10 and is released from the tooth parts 13a of the ratchet member 13. Due to the release, only the handle piece 1 runs idle in the tightening direction, thereby preventing the handle piece 1 from being overtightened. |
