PURPOSE:To permit reliable detection of the limit of wire being paid off from a spool shaft in the form of a loop by semiconductor wire bonding with a signal generated at the time of the contact between the wire and a detector at the time of the release of the loop with the useing-up of the wire. CONSTITUTION:A wire 2 being paid off a spool 4 forms a loop 9 due to its own rigidity to penetrate a guide tube 4 of the spool 4 and be fed into a capillary tube 1. Thus, while there is a loop 9, the wire 2 will not touch a detector 10. When the wire 2 wound on the spool 4 is used up, the loop 9 gradually becomes lower and is eventually brought into contact with the detector 10. As a result, a detecting section 11 and a memory section 12 are actuated, and a wire pay-off limit alarm signal is supplied to a display section 13 for display thereon. In this way, reliable recognition of the wire pay-off limit can be obtained to prevent breakage of wire due to insufficient wire. |
