NEW MATERIAL:Thiol carbamate derivatives of formula I (n is 3-10). EXAMPLE:S-(4-Chlorobutyl)-hexahydro-1H-azepin-1-thiol carbamate. USE:Herbicide: They have a controlling effect against a barnyyard grass at the 0- 1 leaf growing stage to 2-4 leaf stage and exert long-term efficacy. Thus, it can be used as an effective component of a herbicide for paddy rice plant to permit the control of weeds by only once application. Further, they also have strong herbicidal activity against perennial and annual weeds other than barnyyard grasses. PREPARATION:For example, the reaction between hexahydro-1H-azepin, carbonyl sulfide of COS and a compound of formula III (X is Cl, Br, I) is conducted in a solvent such as toluene or in the absence of a solvent in the presence of an acid acceptor at 0-80 deg.C under normal or elevated pressure to a level of 10 atmospheric pressure to obtain the compound of formula I. |
