PURPOSE:To obtain a clad steel plate of higher performance at lower cost as compared with the use of a plated medium, by interposing metallic foil as a medium between a base material and plywood and then by performing hot rolling. CONSTITUTION:Between a base material having the butt surface cleaned by facing, polishing, etc., and plywood, metallic foil is interposed as a medium. Then, the edge of the butt surface is welded over the entire circumference to obtain an assembly slab. In another way, part of the surface is left unwelded as an air hole and a little remaining air between butt surfaces is exhausted through cold rolling, etc., under a slight pressure. Next, those assembly slabs are heated up to a prescribed temperature and then rolled to prevent cementation from the base material to the plywood and at the same time, the metal component as the medium is dispersed to both sides of the base material and plywood to form an alloy joint layer hard in terms of metallurgy. As for respective said materials, when the base material uses a carbon steel plate and the plywood Ni-containing alloy such as stainless steel, Ni is faborably used as the metallic foil as the medium. |
