PURPOSE:To effectuate excellent agglomerating effect in a soil conditioning work in which red clay is treated by an acid. CONSTITUTION:Red clay is treated by an inorganic acid, e.g., sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, nitric acid, etc., for decomposition. A heavily argillaceous soil which is an object of this method of conditioning is ones containing 25wt% or more clay particles of a grain size of 0.002mm. or less, according to the classification method of the International Association of Soil. Said conditioner obtained by decomposing red clay by said method can be used as a conditioner for the heavily argillaceous soil without the necessity for filtration. When being used, the acid-decomposed red clay as a conditioner can be directly added to and mixed with the soil or used after being dried or diluted with water. |
