PURPOSE:To prevent a discharge lamp from being completely suppressed, by combining a high-voltage discharge tube and a low-voltage discharge lamp. CONSTITUTION:A discharge lamp 1 is connected to a power source 19 with a stabilizer 18 placed between them. When a source voltage is applied, a high-voltage discharge tube 8 starts to discharge, and a current which is regulated by the stabilize 18 flows. If the lighting of the tube 8 is suppressed by a temporal droppage of the source voltage, a low-voltage discharge tube 13 which is charged with xenon starts to operate instantaneously. Consequently, the lighting of the discharge lamp 1 doesn't continue to the completely suppressed, and the low-voltage discharge tube 13 continues to discharge light according to its luminous characteristic. |
