Water-tightness testing device for watch - has chamber partially evacuated by pump to obtain deformation of watch case

The device has an hermetically sealed chamber in which the watch (8) is placed before partial evacuation of the chamber, the subsequent deformation of the watch case being measured. A vacuum pump (13) may be switched ON after the watch (8) has been placed in the vacuum chamber and allowed to operate until a specific deformation of the watch case is obtained. Pref. the vacuum chamber comprises a 'plexiglass' dome (1) placed over a sealing plate (10) and it contains a support stand (5,6,7) for the watch (8) and for a deformation measuring probe (4) with a visible indicator dial (2). The device causes the watch case to be deformed outwards, preventing internal damage to the watch mechanism and allowing the deformation to be readily measured mechanically.
