PURPOSE:The titled soil improving agent, capable of giving improved aggregating effects, preparable at a low cost on the spot, and obtained by treating a soil containing specific amounts of alumina or iron oxide, silica and clay with an inorganic acid. CONSTITUTION:A soil improving agent for heavy clay soil obtained by treating a soil containing 10wt% or more compound expressed by the formula R2O3 (R is Al or trivalent Fe), 30wt% or more SiO2 and 20wt% or more clay, preferably having a particle size <=0.002mm. and containing 15wt% or more R2O3 and 35wt% or more SiO2, with an inorganic acid, preferably sulfuric acid of concentration >=80% and with a sulfuric acid content of 80-300wt% based on R2O3. The moisture content in the soil to be treated is preferably 45wt% or less to prevent the reduction in R2O3 decomposition ratio. The amount of the titled improving agent is preferably 1-20t per 10 ares of the heavy clay soil. |
