Antistatic tubes, films etc. are prepd. by extruding a resin, e.g. polyethylene, polypropylene or polystyrene contg. an antistatic agent such as fatty acid esters during which water esp. in the form of a mist and/or steam is directed at the moulding in measured amts. Both interior and exterior surfaces of the mouldings are made antistatic. The moulding is made antistatic during extrusion and not after lengthy storage in the presence of moisture, which only make the outer surface antistatic. The prod. can be used for bags and sacks. |
