The pulsed laser has an excitation space that has a circular cross-section in a direction perpendicular to beam propagation. The optical resonator consists of mirrors at the ends of the coaxial discharge space. Each mirror is divided into several separate submirrors distributed uniformly over the circular cross-section and inclined at different angles such that together they form a closed optical resonator for which the beam travels backwards and forwards covering the entire discharge space. The submirrors are sector shaped or circular. One of the submirrors is semitransparent to allow the beam to be coupled out. The central normal to the semitransparent submirror is parallel to the axis.
