<p>Pairs of clamping arms, on both sides of the cut, are arranged so that the trunk moves so as to widen the gap, as soon as it is divided. The appts. is esp. used for clamping tree trunks in position for division by sawing. One pair of arms (8,9), at least, with a drive (13) has a clamping batten (16,17), pref. with parallel guide-arms, pre-stressed towards the clamped trunk (3). A clamping jaw (21,22) prestressable, in this direction, is mounted on this so as to swivel about a vertical axis parallel to the arm length. A very small number of drive units provides requisite clamping and gap widening.</p> |
