Compact carrier bag for neat storage - has strong base with centre fold to reduce folded dimensions by half

The side walls (1) of the carrier bag which can be made of plastics or a more expensive material e.g. leather are designed to fold down onto the base (3a,3b). The base itself is divided about a central axis of articulation (4) into two folding halves wherein these two halves can be detachably connected together by fastening devices provided round the edges such as a slide fastener (5a,5b,6) which runs round three sides. Thus when the bag is fully collapsed its size only amounts to half the basic outline of the base providing a flat smooth-walled case easily stored in a handbag for example.
