PURPOSE:To improve the scratching resistance and damp proof property of an fog resistant plastic lens by immersing a plastic lens which is in an imperfectly set state, into a hydrophilic monomer of macromolecular substance thereby forming a hydrophilic resin layer into one piece thereto. CONSTITUTION:A monomer of macromolecular substance for plastic lens base material such as diethyleneglycol bisallylcarbonate, diallylphthalate or the like is cast into a lens mold and is caused to react. This monomer is taken out in a prepolymer state that it is not perfectly set. Thence, the lens in the prepolymer state is immersed in a hydrophilic monomer such as sodium (meth)acrylate to impregnate the hydrophilic monomer in the surface layer part of the lens, after which it is allowed to set, whereby the hydrophilic resin layer is formed in one body on the surface of the plastic lens. Thereby, the peeling of the hydrophilic resin layer is obviated, and the hydrophilic resin layer is formed uniformly even on a lens having difference of the surface level such as a multifocus lens. |
