The conveyor belt (A) has wires or rods transverse to the direction of motion of the belt which are equipped with short, loose-fitting tubes (C). When the belt moves across the support (B), the tubes will rotate, thus causing the object (D) to roll on the conveyor belt. In this way, during operation, the support surfaces will move, and less tractive force is needed. Furthermore, the tubes will isolate the object from the conveyor belt, provided that they are made of insulating material. |
