<p>A metallic composition based on metals of group VIII and on nitrides of metals of groups III to VII and a method for its manufacture are characterized in that at least one alloy, which contains at least one metal of group VIII and at least one metal of groups III to VII, is powdered and placed under a nitrogen-containing atmosphere with an excess of nitrogen after which the combustion of the mixture is initiated by setting fire to any local point of the mixture, the excess of nitrogen being maintained up to the end of the reaction. The said metallic composition and the method of its manufacture can be used for making hard alloys based on high-melting compounds. </p> |
