A direct-current electric line comprises two cable systems providing for arc discharge protection of the lead wires (2, 3). Above a lead wire (2) connected to the negative pole (6) of a direct-current source (7) a cable system is placed which contains at least two wires (9) spaced at a certain distance from one another whereas above a lead wire (3) connected to the positive pole (8) of the direct-current source (7) a cable system is placed which contains only one wire (11).
