PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compounds in high yield at a relatively low temperature, by bringing a mixture gas containing isobutylene and oxygen, in the vapor phase at a high temperature, into contact with a specific catalyst comprising cobalt and one of selenium, zinc and vanadium. CONSTITUTION:A mixture gas containing isobutylene and oxygen in the vapor phase at a high temperature is brought into contact with a catalyst of the formula (X is K, Rb, Cs or Tl; Y is at least one element selected from Se, Zn and V; a-h are atomic ratios of each element, and when a=12, b=0.2-20 and c=0.2-12; d= 0.2-12, e=0.2-12, f=0.2-12, g=0.01-4, h=0.01-4; i is determined by the oxidation state of the catalyst, preferably at a pressure ranging from normal to several atmospheres and 200-450 deg.C, especially 250-400 deg.C, for 0.5-10 seconds, to give the aimed compounds. |
