PURPOSE:To prevent a bubble from being generated in a fuel injection pump, by providing a pressure feed plunger synchronously operated with an engine and an injection plunger for feeding fuel and moving the injection plunger to the distance by a stroke corresponding to quantity of the fed fuel. CONSTITUTION:A pressure feed plunger 3, injection plunger 2 and a nozzle 44 are arranged in a cylinder 1. The pressure feed plunger 3 is operated interlocking to a follower 50 engaged to a cam, not shown in the drawing and synchronously moved with an engine, and compresses fuel from a fuel tank 52 in a pump chamber 32. The compressed fuel makes an action upon upper and lower chambers 21, 23 in the injection plunger 2 through passages 12, 13 from a passage 14 to move the plunger 2 by a stroke in accordance with rotary speed of the engine. Then fuel is introduced into a fuel injection pump chamber 22 through a feed pump 57 by up-down motion of said injection plunger 2, and the fuel is injected from the nozzle 44 into a fuel chamber not shown in the drawing. |
