PREDOMINANTLY STARCH CONTAINING MIXTURE SUITABLE FOR PREPARING CORRUGATING ADHESIVE

A starch containing up to 90 % by weight of ordinary unmodified starch in mixture with of a composition containing up to 98 % by weight of wheat starch with a granule diameter smaller than 10 .mu.m, 1 - 8 % by weight of wheat pentosans and 1-10 % by weight of wheat proteins, calculated on dry basis. The starch-containing mixture of the invention has a superior water-binding capacity and is particularly suitable for preparing a corrugating adhesive having improved stability and stable viscosity during repeated heating-cooling cycles at 50 - 10.degree.C and under mechanical stress when compared to an adhesive prepared from an ordinary unmodified starch.
