For the purpose of transmitting interlocking forces between sections of separate carriageway surfacings, especially temporary ones, each surfacing section (1) is provided with a recess (3) and a bolt (6). A cylindrical connecting piece (2) with two L-shaped pawls (26) underneath is inserted through the recesses (3) of two adjoining carriageway sections. The cylindrical piece (2) is then turned so that the horizontal portions (28) of the pawls (26) come to rest under the bolt (6). Carriageways can be quickly assembled with minimum effort. They can be dismantled as easily for the purpose of further usage in a different location.
