Title derivs. are cpds. of formula (I) : (where either (a) R1 is Et or -CH=CH2, n is 2-5, X is S, or =NR4 in which Y and Z are both S or one is O and the other is S and R4 is H or a gp. A, and R2 and R3 alkyl or NR2R3 is a heterocyclic ring opt. contg. O, S or a gp. =NR5 (R5 = lower alkyl or lower hydroxyalkyl) as a heteroatom or NR2R3 is a piperazinyl gp. the second N-atom of which is substd. by a (lower acyloxy)-(lower alkyl) or lower benzoyloxyalkyl gp.; or (b) R1 is Et or -CH=CH2, n is 2, R3 is lower alkyl, lower hydroxyalkyl, (lower acyloxy)-(lower alkyl) or lower benzoyloxyalkyl, X is =NR4, and R2 and R4 are joined so as to form an ethylene bridge) and their acid addn. and quat. salts. Processes for prepg. (I) (e.g. from 14-deoxy-14-sulphonyloxyacetoxymutilins) are claimed. |
