PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of works incidental to the slow cooling process, and to improve the productivity, by applying the slow cooling to the hot billets as they are being piled up on the carrying truck, on the way of transportation. CONSTITUTION:Hot billets, cut into a specified length, are piled up on the slow cooling truck carrying compactly laid warming materials; this truck is transported to a deposite line or an idle siding line of the billet slow cooling yard; then, the truck is left under this condition, and the billets are slow cooled for a specified period of time. Hereby, the loading and unloading works for billets on purpose to transport them to the slow cooling yard such as in the conventional piling system, and the loading and unloading works for the purpose of transporting billets to the next process, are omitted. |
