For example, the compound is applicable in the field of cosmetics, health drugs, sanitary drugs, pharmaceuticals, etc., and is also useful as a synthetic intermeidate for other perfumery materials. PROCESS:The compound of formula I is prepared by contacting a 5-substituted-1- decene of formula II with ozone at -78-+30 deg.C, pref. -78--30 deg.C, and reducing the product with a reducing agent such as zinc powder, triphenyl phosphine, etc. at -30-+20 deg.C, pref. -10-0 deg.C. |
