The chimney consists of a cylindrical casing (1), tapering to an outlet (3) at the top. Inside, it has a straight cylindrical duct (4) for the flue gases, the flow of these being regulated by a damper (5). The space between has circular baffle plates (7) providing individual flow paths. These are divided into two main flow paths by upper (8) and lower (9) half-plates and the diverted flue gases (F1) pass up one side, across and out the other. Heating fluid or air (f2) enters on the opposite upper side, crosses over and emerges (9) on the opposite lower side.
|
