<p>The roll train system for holding long material during shaping operations has a pair of rollers (7,12) at the input, following the roller conveyor advancing the workpiece. This is followed by a set of e.g. three shaping tools, then an output section of the same design as the input rollers, then final support rollers. These input and output sets each consist of an upper driving roller (12) connected by universal joints (17) with a drive motor (19), and an idler roller (7) underneath. The idler roller has its spindle (8) supported by the sides of a cage (9) which can rise and fall inside a fixed frame (10). The spindle (13) of the driving roller is supported at each end by an arm (14) with a piston (15) on top, moving inside a cylinder (16) mounted on top of the moving cage. A coding device (20) is mounted on the end of the spindle of the idler roller.</p> |
