<p>The winding is provided with a passage (22) for the supply wires to the winding. At the end (26) of the passage a fin of insulating material (28) connects to the winding. The former (12) for the coil rests between two arms of a magnetic material cup (10) with one arm holding a sleeve which forms the passage way for the wire from the wire entry to the end of the coil former. Locating studs in the sleeve mate with the cup and hold the coil former in place. Radial notches in the cap of the insulating sleeve serve to hold the supply wires. This form of construction obviates the need for moulded encapsulation. The device avoids splitting and underised displacements of the ends of the coil, even when the ends are made of flat, thin wire and are not reinforced.</p> |
