Safety system to prevent car starting - operates when seat belts are not fastened, by using switch in ignition circuit actuated by belt

The safety system has a switch located in the seat-belt and only closing when the seat-belt is fastened. The switch's contacts are situated in the ignition circuit of the vehicle. The switch has a second pair of contacts that light a warning lamp when the switch is open -- ie when the seat-belt is not fastened. The driver cannot therefore forget to fasten the seat belt since the car cannot otherwise be started. Two lamps may be used, one to indicate that the circuit is connected and the second to indicate that the belt is unfastened. The lamps are recessed in the belt housing to prevent damage.
