The bristles of the cleaning brush are held between at least two drilled support wires (4) which are bent into a helix at least in their area (3) which has the bristles (5). The support wires (4) pref. have at first following the handle (1) a straight or slightly curved section (8) without bristles after which they run in a helix. The pitch of the screw is pref. narrow so that the bristles of two adjoining lines contact each other so that even with relatively short and thus stable bristles a reliable cleaning action can be achieved.
