<p>The absorber for driving a heat pump has a central vertical column (1) made from a steel tube with sets of equally spaced radial arms (2) projecting from it. It supports the windings of a plastics tube. Each set of eight arms carries a pancake winding, and the different windings form a stack. Inside the column is a supply line (3) and a return line (4) embedded in plastics foam. The supply line is built up in sections, each section decreasing in dia. upwards for each winding as it decreases in size. For strong sunlight, a transparent plastics covering encloses the device.</p> |
