<p>Municipal sewage and industrial wastes are passed through a precleaning station where the coarse solids are removed. The clarified liq. is then distilled to recover all chemical cpds. which are dissolved in the liq. The steam produced is passed through turbines to generate electricity and the remaining heat is extracted from it by heat pumps. The raw materials, recovered by the precleaning operation, can be used as building material or for landscaping. The steam, produced by the distillation, can be used for a district heating system after it has left the turbines. The resulting condensate is completely pure and causes no pollution when discharged in the drainage system. This eliminates the environmental pollution by imperfectly cleaned sewage and industrial wastes. It recovers valuable raw materials and chemicals and produces electricity from waste.</p> |
