Holder for electric component with front side leads - holds leads in U=shaped recesses between housing strips, and has lead retaining hollow rivets

The holder is intended for a component mounted in a housing of an electric appliance such as a switch, especially for connection to a printer circuit board. The housing bottom (21) has upwards protruding strips (22) with U-shaped recesses (23) in their upper front edges. The lead wires (26) of a component (20), located between the strips are inserted in the U-shaped recesses. The housing bottom carries hollow rivets (25), allocated to the lead wires, the rivets protruding from the bottom outwards together with the lead wires. Pref. the lead wires are secured in the recesses by cold or hot deformation of the strip front edges. The hollow rivets may be of length suitable for soldering into a printer circuit. The protrusion of the rivets facing the circuit board is less than 1.5mm, and the lead wires protrude from the rivet ends by 0.5 mm.
