<p>The conveyor is for bottles or similar items, these arriving in a single row between two contra-rotating spider wheels, each followed by a compartmented conveyor. Control members direct the bottles alternately from the wheels to the two conveyors. Both conveyors have an endless chain with driving dogs for the bottles, and also teeth, running round a driving sprocket and a return wheel. Each sprocket is concentric to its respective spider wheel and turns with it, the spider wheel pitch circle being at least double the dia. of that of the sprocket. Each chain so intersects the spider wheel periphery that every other bottle in the wheel pockets is transferred into its successive compartments, whose pitch is at the most equal to that of the wheels.</p> |
