PURPOSE:To suppress the vibration transmission force within proper range, by providing a relief valve for functioning by the differential pressure across a valve to a damping force generating valve thereby preventing the excessive damping force under high piston speed. CONSTITUTION:One end of a leaf spring 8 is supported through a screw 9 to the upper wall face of a whirlpool chamber 4, while at the free end 8a a conducting hole 7 is chocked from the inside to constitute a relief valve. When a piston 2 moves upward in the drawing, the operating liquid in an operating liquid chamber R1 will flow through a spiral hole 6 into the whirlpool chamber 4 to produce the whirlpool thus to produce the damping force then discharged through an opening 5 into an operating liquid chamber R2. At this time the pressure difference at the spiral hole 6 is added to the pressure difference between both liquid pressure chambers R1, R2 due to the whirlpool, thereby the liquid pressure in the operating liquid chamber R1 will increase considerably when compared with the liquid pressure in the whirlpool chamber 4 to increase the differential pressure considerably, but when it reaches to predetermined level the relief spring 8 is pushed down to open the conducting hole 7 thus to suppress the increase of resistance due to the damping force generating valve, thereby the damping force as a shock absorber will be settled to the level determined by the factor of the relief spring 8. |
