Novel 2,4-diamino-5-benzylpyrimidines of the formula <IMAGE> in which R<1> and R<2> represent a C1-6-alkyl radical, R<3> represents a C1-3-alkyl radical and R<4> represents methylene or a C2-4-alkylidene radical, and their physiologically tolerable acid addition salts, potentiate the antibacterial action of sulphonamides. The compounds of the formula I can be prepared in various ways. |
