PURPOSE:To lower the redundancy of the mesh picture, by using plural picture elements, which belong to plural meshes existing near the object picture element and are in the same phase position as the object picture element, as reference picture elements of the object picture element to generate a forecast code. CONSTITUTION:The binary signal of each picture element obtained by scanning the mesh picture is input to register 1 and random access memory 2. Reference picture element information is input to register 3 from memory 2 at every input of the picture element. The error signal generated by giving the object picture element value and reference picture element values to ROM4 is input to coder 5 to output the coded output signal. |
