摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance the detection precision without increasing the device scale considerably, by dividing detection of the dynamic vector into two steps and by adopting different speed detection methods in respective steps, in the interframe coding device due to dynamic vector detection. CONSTITUTION:One frame or one field of the input television signal is divided into plural blocks, and for individual blocks, the dynamic vector of motion of the television picture is detected to correct motion. Detection of the dynamic vector is divided into two steps, and different speed detection methods are adopted in respective steps. That is, the dynamic vector is detected temporarily in the first step, and a shift vector group to obtain the appreciation function value is determined on a basis of the detection result of the first step in the second step, and the appreciation function value is obtained only for the determined shift vector group, and a shift vector where the appreciation function value is minimum is defined as the dynamic vector.
